Alex de Souza is currently a Supply Chain Subcontracts Specialist in the Aerospace and Defense industry for Northrop Grumman Corporation, one of the largest defense contractors in the United States. As a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Operations & Supply Chain Management, Alex decided to put his degree to good use by jumping right into the supply chain field.
During his time with Northrop Grumman, he’s worked in the company’s Global Supply Chain sector and focused heavily on supply chain metrics and subcontract management. Using programs such as SAP and Tableau, he and his team drive to monitor their Program’s supply chain performance and oversee the negotiation of high-dollar subcontracts with suppliers to ensure only the highest-quality and most affordable parts are being delivered to the Program. He is also currently a certified yellow belt in Lean Six Sigma principles. In today’s world, where consumers demand almost immediate delivery of products with a click of a mouse, Alex knows the importance of maintaining a smooth supply chain network in satisfying the end user.
Since college, Alex has been passionate about personal development, whether it’s through reading, listening to podcasts, or simply working to be a better person and leader each day. These habits were instilled in him through his mentor during his time as a collegiate member in the business fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi at Cal State Long Beach, which he is still active in as an alumnus. He is determined to not only live a life that adds value to others, but to teach and encourage others to do the same through mentorship.
In addition to his career at Northrop Grumman, Alex actively supports and is a board member of the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which seeks to promote minority-owned businesses throughout the Southern California region. He also serves as a District Director for the Delta Sigma Pi chapter at Loyola Marymount University.
