Alex de Souza is currently a Supply Chain Subcontracts Specialist in the Aerospace and Defense industry for Northrop Grumman Corporation, one of the largest defense contractors in the United States. As a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Operations & Supply Chain Management, Alex decided to put his degree to good use by jumping right into the supply chain field.

During his time with Northrop Grumman, he’s worked in the company’s Global Supply Chain sector and focused heavily on supply chain metrics and subcontract management. Using programs such as SAP and Tableau, he and his team drive to monitor their Program’s supply chain performance and oversee the negotiation of high-dollar subcontracts with suppliers to ensure only the highest-quality and most affordable parts are being delivered to the Program.

Alex also serves as a Director of the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (RHCC) and the Regional Hispanic Institute (RHI) and works to help promote the goals of both organizations through various programs and events such as the Líderes Mentorship Program, the Southern California Business Development Conference, and the annual Mujeres del Año Awards Gala. These types of events are key to fulfilling the RHCC and RHI’s mission of not only engaging and promoting businesses throughout Southern California, but also developing the leaders of tomorrow!

As Alex says, “It’s great to have organizations like the RHCC and RHI promoting small businesses whenever possible, but the fact that they also engage students and promote leadership and mentorship among them is something that I truly love and admire. I’m definitely proud to be a part of it all!”
