More Job Possibilities for Social Workers

Non Traditional Social Work

When you think of social workers, do you think of them working in the banking or the insurance industry?  Probably not.  That is exactly what the USC School of Social Work has done by broadening the job possibilities for graduate students pursuing their Master of Social Work (MSW) degree.

The USC School of Social Work has been developing “non-traditional” Social Work internships in areas such as trust management, fund development, claims management, marketing, research and evaluation.  The MSW student brings a wealth of transferable skills that are valuable to organizations such as multidimensional assessment and problem solving, leveraging resources and relationships, marketing and community outreach, market research, program evaluation, organizational development and project management.
